The Student Star Program is a free summer workshop that is open to members of the Classes of 2016, 2017, & 2018. The application and more information can be found here: https://education.emc.com/student_star/ Thank you to Mr. Nsilo-Swai for letting us know about this opportunity.
Overview (from their website): The program exposes students to several career fields and highlights how each operates across all industries, including within EMC. The sessions are led by Subject Matter Experts and are structured as open forums with team building exercises for application and practice. Sessions on Life Skills are included to strengthen ‘real world’ potential, and to convey the significance of continuing personal development along with their professional development. The program features several College-focused segments to help students prepare for the important transition into university life. During the week, teams conduct a case study on an EMC product; and at the end of their session they present their projects to a panel of judges. The students utilize skills and information learned throughout the week along with their own creativity to complete the projects. The program is intended to expose students to new areas of interest. Each year the curriculum is slightly altered to ensure the content and presenters are meeting the needs of the dynamic audience. Applicant CriteriaApplicants must be starting their junior or senior year of high school, or their freshman year of college. Applicants must submit a completed application form on the Student STAR website. Qualified applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students who have already attended their first year of college are not eligible to participate in the program. Students who have already participated in the Student STAR Program are also not eligible to reapply. |
