Introduction to Computer Science

Course Overview

This class will introduce students to topics in Computer Science, with an emphasis on experimenting with different programming languages.  Students will have a choice of projects based on their preference and experience with programming. Project choices will possibly include but are not limited to: Kahn Academy Computer Science, online programming class with Udacity, Android App Inventor to create apps or games for Android devices, creating a robot with Lego Mindstorms Robotics or an Artbotics piece, creating a website, setting up and using a Linux-based Raspberry Pi computer, writing C to control robots from the Botball equipment.  This class is hands-on and project-based, has few lectures and allows for creativity in the choice of final product of each project.
